Algemene voorwaarden
Slotman Customs uses consumer-friendly general terms and conditions. This means they are written as clearly and understandably as possible and in no way limit the consumer’s rights.
General
General terms and conditions are often rightly seen as "difficult fine print". Therefore, we aim to use plain language to describe matters such as price, delivery time, payment timing, and what exactly is being delivered. Because not everyone is aware of the legal procedures involved in a purchase agreement, we start with a brief explanation of your legal rights as a buyer.
The party providing a product or service to you (for convenience, referred to here as the "seller") is legally responsible for ensuring that what is delivered has the qualities you may expect based on the purchase agreement (this is called conformity). This includes the type of product and any claims the seller has made about it. For example, special features of the product. It is advisable to document such matters in writing for clarity.
You may also rely on marketing statements made by the manufacturer, unless the seller explicitly states that they disagree with those claims. For completeness, we have included a conformity declaration in Article 7.
If the product lacks the properties that you may expect based on the purchase agreement, you may, in addition to all other rights granted to you by law (e.g., postponement of payment), demand from the seller:
- Delivery of the missing item;
- Repair of defects, unless impossible or unreasonable to expect from the seller;
- Or replacement, unless impossible or unreasonable to expect from the seller.
The seller may refuse repair or replacement if the costs are disproportionate to other reasonable solutions, such as a price reduction or a refund and compensation for any damage suffered.

Article 1. All Agreements in Writing
We aim to document all agreements—regarding price, product features, delivery time, payment timing, etc.—as thoroughly as possible in writing. Additional agreements (e.g., software or hardware that deviates from the standard configuration) will also be documented. Repair-related agreements are also put in writing.
Article 2. The Offer
If our offer (and price) has a limited validity or comes with conditions, we will clearly state this.
Offers for products apply as long as stock lasts.
We describe products/services as clearly as possible so that you can make a good assessment. Images used are truthful; if not possible, we will mention that.
If digital products are involved, we will state whether they are protected.
Where applicable, we state which hardware or software is required to use the products/services.
Article 3. The Price
Our prices include VAT but exclude any additional costs such as shipping, delivery fees, or levies like environmental contributions or copyright fees. These will be communicated before the agreement is concluded.
Prices remain fixed during the offer period, unless legal changes (e.g., VAT rate increases) or financial market fluctuations beyond our control occur. In such cases, variable prices may be offered, and this will be stated clearly as indicative prices.
If the price increases more than 3 months after the agreement was made, you may cancel the agreement starting from the date the increase takes effect.
Article 4. Payment
We offer various payment methods, which may vary over time. You will receive an invoice upon payment.
Just like you, we have payment obligations. If you delay your payment, this incurs costs for us. If legally permitted, we may charge you for the damage we suffer (interest loss and reasonable collection costs).
Article 5. Delivery and Execution
We aim to deliver by the agreed time. This is as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days, unless a different term is agreed. If delivery is late and not due to force majeure, and payment was due upon delivery, you may postpone payment until delivery occurs. You may also cancel the agreement if the delay is unreasonable.
Delivery will be made to the address you provided. If delivery is delayed or partially possible, you’ll be notified as soon as possible—within 30 days of the agreement. After this, you may cancel free of charge and receive a refund.
If an ordered product can’t be delivered, we will try to provide a substitute. You will be informed of this clearly. For distance purchases, you may still use your right of withdrawal. Return shipping is on us in such cases.
The risk of damage or loss remains with us until the product is delivered to you or a third party designated by you—unless you chose a non-standard delivery method.
Article 6. Warranty
All new products come with a full warranty of at least one year. Batteries may have a different warranty term.
Manufacturers or importers may offer their own warranty. You can contact us for claims even if it's a third-party warranty—we remain your primary point of contact.
Tampering with the delivered product (hardware or software) may void your warranty rights.
Article 7. Conformity
We guarantee that our products/services comply with the purchase agreement, the specifications in the offer, and the reasonable standards of usability and quality. They will also meet legal requirements and regulations valid at the time the agreement was made.
This includes type, quantity, quality, functionality, compatibility, and interoperability. All accessories and instructions will be provided.
Digital products will receive updates necessary to function correctly for a reasonable period, unless we clearly stated otherwise and you agreed to it.
Warranties mentioned in Article 6 do not affect your rights under this article.
Article 8. Privacy Policy
See our [Privacy Statement] for details about:
- What personal data we collect;
- How and why we process it;
- Who we share it with;
- How long we retain it;
- How we secure it;
- How to file complaints or contact us.
We only collect personal data necessary for our services or as legally required. We process all data according to applicable laws. Our employees treat it confidentially, and we only share it with third parties who have signed proper agreements.
Article 9. Retention of Ownership
We retain ownership until payment is made in full. For repair orders, we describe your item clearly so your ownership is protected even if the repair business goes bankrupt.
Article 10. Distance Purchase
Distance purchases (e.g., web shop orders) have special legal rules.
10a. Information
We provide clear pre-purchase info: product details, price (including all additional fees), contract details, right of withdrawal, contact methods, and more. This info is available before the agreement is made and again after.
10b. Formation, Confirmation, and Security
A contract is formed when an offer is accepted. Ordering online by clicking the final order button is binding. You’ll receive confirmation (email, SMS, etc.). Until then, you may cancel.
We ensure a secure website and data protection.
10c. Withdrawal Period for Products
You have 14 days after delivery to cancel without reason. If you ordered multiple items or deliveries, the period starts from the last item received.
During the cooling-off period, handle the product and packaging with care. Only unpack/use it as needed to assess it. If you withdraw, return the product with accessories in original condition. You’re responsible for diminished value due to improper handling.
Return costs are yours unless we state otherwise. Refunds are issued within 14 days of withdrawal. If you chose a more expensive shipping method, you’ll only be refunded the standard shipping cost.
10d. Withdrawal Period for Services and Digital Products
You have 14 days to cancel services or digital content (non-physical). If you requested early delivery, we may charge for the services provided up to cancellation.
10e. Withdrawal Exclusions
Withdrawal does not apply to:
- Products tied to volatile market prices;
- Public auction purchases (not internet auctions);
- Fully delivered services with your prior consent;
- Custom-made or personalized products;
- Perishable or hygienically sealed goods if unsealed;
- Mixed products that cannot be separated;
- Opened sealed audio/video/software;
- Loose newspapers/magazines (subscriptions excluded);
- Digital content accessed with prior consent.
10f. Payment
You cannot be required to prepay more than 50% unless another option exists (e.g., pay on delivery).
10g. Cancellation
You may cancel free of charge before shipment, unless the item is excluded from withdrawal.
Article 11. Complaints
We aim to provide excellent service. Report complaints promptly—ideally within two months. Written complaints are preferred. We’ll respond within 14 days. Privacy complaints are handled under separate rules—see our Privacy Statement.
Article 12. Disputes
Only Dutch law applies. Disputes may be submitted to court or to mediation.
Article 13. Additional Provisions
Any additions or deviations will be listed under "Additional Provisions" and will never disadvantage the consumer.
